Eyebrow transplant

Hair thinning in the eyebrows usually occurs as a result of constant plucking of the eyebrows, skin disease such as local *hairloss* (alopecia), permanent makeup, chemotherapy and the like. After eyebrow hair loss, there is still the possibility that eyebrow hair will grow back. When a person experiences permanent loss of the eyebrow follicles, he / she can be suitable for an eyebrow transplant. Eyebrow transplantation is a process of hair follicle transplantation, which can be extracted from a healthy donor area, especially from the area at the back of the head and be implanted in the facial area where the eyebrow hair loss occurred.

Eyebrow transplant using the DHI method

Of the hair restoration procedures, the most meticulous and demanding application is eyebrow hair transplantation. In the eyebrow transplant procedure, it is very important to achieve results that look aesthetically pleasing and natural. To do this, the angle and direction of the implanted follicles should be natural and the eyebrow line should be carefully planned. At Dr. Serkan Aygin’s clinic, eyebrow transplants are performed using the DHI transplant method. The reason why eyebrow transplants are done using the DHI method is that it allows for implantation between existing hairs, unlike the FUE method.

Steps in eyebrow transplantation

It can be assumed that in eyebrow transplantation there are first and foremost aesthetic concerns about the procedure. Therefore, it requires the development of a customized transplant plan based on the unique needs of the patient.

Eyebrow transplant using the DHI method

The four basic steps for eyebrow transplantation

  1. Consulting and planning
  2. Removal of hair follicles from the donor area
  3. Transplant the follicles with the Choi DHI implant pen
  4. Dressing after transplantation

Here are brief explanations of these steps:

Consultation and planning:

The desired area for implantation and eyebrow shaping will be determined after examination and a physical diagnostic session with the doctor. During this stage, the doctor will develop the transplant plan taking into account the patient’s facial appearance and personal needs.

Removal of hair follicles from the donor area:

In a non-shaving method, which is generally suitable for patients with long hair, this is a technique that is also suitable for eyebrow transplantation. The small amount of follicles needed will allow the transplant process to be performed easily. Hair follicle removal without shaving method requires a small donation area only from the back area of the head where the hair will be shaved. The shaved area from which the hair follicles will be taken will not be noticeable because it will be covered by existing hair. When performing the hair follicles extraction only individual hairs will be transplanted because only individual hairs can give an aesthetic look to the back.

Prior to the hair follicle extraction phase, local anesthesia will be performed on the donor area.

Transplant the follicles with the Choi DHI implant pen

In DHI eyebrow transplants, the transplanted area is also anesthetized with local anesthesia. By using the DHI pen the transplanted hair follicles will be taken into account with the exact hair growth direction and angle. This process is significant in order to achieve an aesthetic result.

Dressing after transplantation

The day after the transplant, a local dressing will be performed to make sure that the hair follicles that have been transplanted have been well absorbed into the skin tissue and also to ensure that no medical complication occurs.

Because an eyebrow transplant requires only an average of 200-300 follicles, the procedure takes usually between 2-3 hours.
